Involved or Affected

Augenhöhe meint alle Ebenen

Equality at all Levels

Where you are, I've already been....

When you choose to work on dependency, it helps to speak from experience — a true dialogue on equal footing is essential. Beyond mere metaphor, work should be not only effective but also efficient.

We know many theoretical approaches to practical problems. This applies to dependency in general and substances in particular. Some surely include workable — even "best practice" — methods.

But they can hardly replace lived experience — that's something different.

Mastery lies in jointly creating a royal path from these experiences — one that's sustainable for all involved and affected.

It's like the difference between efficiency and effectiveness. People often use the terms interchangeably, but they describe distinct states

Erfahrung wächst

Experience grows!

Effectiveness means doing the right things and applying them well. Efficiency, on the other hand, describes the "quality" of that application — the real benefit for those affected. This is often called resource orientation. Despite its clinical tone, the term works well. In a tense situation, it points exactly to what's under pressure: your own resources. Health, self-worth, self-concept, relationships. Or more abstractly: material or immaterial assets.

The concept goes straight to the heart of the matter — the essence, the core, the origin, or simply the source. That's the pivot point where tensions truly begin.

At its core, dependency means something can't happen from within yourself alone. It requires input or availability from something else.

That "something" and "something else" define the problem area and show it's about far more than just the dependent person.

Abhängigkeit in und um Räume

Dependency creates structures

It's about a web of mutual, cross-area relationships that respond to a root cause and need resolving as a whole.

The dimensions of these structures are complex and shift dynamically.

First toward the problem situation we call dependency, then away from it toward something new.

Starting point and end state may not align and don't have to match some prior status quo from the past.

The single problem always takes priority for resolution.

The goal is always renewed, healthy connection to an environment that has itself transformed.
